TBS is dedicated to giving back to the legal community with a commitment to pro bono work, including having represented a number of clients through the Federal Pro Bono Project of the Northern District of California court.  

TBS is also the recipient of the Dorothy M. Wolfe Award from the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo.

Demonstrating its commitment to this work, TBS provides billable hour credit to its associate attorneys for time spent on pro bono matters.

Partner Karen Boyd is a long-time volunteer on the mediation panel for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The Northern District provides one of the oldest and most well-respected alternative dispute resolution programs in the United States. The program has received numerous awards and accolades from users. To best aid the Court in managing its busy docket, she mediates high-volume causes of action, including Americans with Disabilities Act matters, for which she has received special training.
